When she fell
Though I know I couldn't catch her.
Without ceremony this morning,
They broke her down.
She's more than mostly gone, now.
I wish I had been there to see her go.
Not because I like the view
Not to see the empty place
in her heart where I once lived
Nor to witness the death
of a place I once called "home."
But
I wish I had been there to see her go
so she wouldn't have to die alone.
