ReplyDeleteDear Alayna, you have always had the amazing ability to screen before you speak, even as a young child. We all struggle with those thoughts that pop into our heads. The important thing is what we do with them. I don't doubt that these thoughts occur--but I hope they are the minority. There is so much more cause to say things like: Dear Alayna, that was brilliant. Dear Alayna, what great insight. Dear Alayna, that was very thoughtful. Dear Alayna, thanks for showing you care. Dear Alayna, how is it that you always have a perfect quote--and yes, I know that sometimes they are original. ETC!!!

ReplyDeleteYou know what, sometimes these things are true. It happens to all of us. But, dearest Alayna, it isn't okay to tell yourself these things unless you are doing it to become better at them. Like mom says, don't say only negative things, make sure you notify yourself when you do something you're proud of.
